Background

Establishment:

The Robin Food Coalition was founded in 2023 by about 20 SME leaders in the food sector who decided to join forces. RFC's ambition is to strengthen and accelerate the market transition to healthy, socially inclusive and ecologically resilient agriculture and nutrition through mutual cooperation based on the 5M approach.

Mission:

Our mission is to deliver prototypes for the new economy, in which profit only becomes profit when people and nature (planet) also win. We do this by unlocking the collective intelligence of a coalition of the willing, consisting of SME leaders, NGOs, experts and academics.

Core activities

We support frontrunners with our 5M strategy where we help them determine, measure, manage, market and monetize materiality. In addition, we stimulate the demand for organic products through effective marketing campaigns.

The 5-m approach

1
Determine materiality

Double materiality involves assessing two dimensions: the impact of the company on the world and the impact of the world on the company. By mapping these influences, we can comprehensively understand and address the interconnectedness of business operations and global sustainability challenges.

2
To measure

Collecting impact data in the chain. For this we use satellite observation data, remote sensing, geo-imaging and artificial intelligence. We ensure that this data is accountancy-proof.

3
Manage

Implementing a sustainability strategy throughout the organization: purchasing, processing, sales, marketing, quality, IT, financial reporting, human resources, corporate policy in its entirety. Bringing people and planet into the purpose of the entire company.

4
Market

Marketing and capitalizing on sustainability efforts in the market: "Do good and talk about it"

5
The monetizer

Pricing the social costs and benefits (true cost accounting). Supplementing the annual accounts with natural and social capital/loss and profit. Developing a new governance in which the ecological and social dimensions also have a say in corporate policy.
