What drives you to be part of the Robin Food Coalition?
We are joining the Robin Food Coalition because we believe in the power of working together toward a fair, healthy, and sustainable food system. Many people with Parkinson’s are concerned about the influence of pesticides on the disease. By participating in this network, we contribute to reducing pesticide use and increasing awareness around this theme.
How do you believe food and agriculture can make a positive contribution to people and nature, and what role do you play in that?
Food and agriculture have the potential to strengthen both human health and the health of the planet. A sustainable food system stimulates vitality, biodiversity, less pollution, and better living conditions for everyone. Due to our concerns regarding the use of pesticides, the Parkinson’s Association (Parkinson Vereniging) believes it is vital to encourage organic farming. We can contribute to this by bringing forward the experiences and needs of our community.
How can we support you in that role?
You can best support us by involving us in discussions. We are eager to amplify the voices of those who, because of their health, are gravely concerned about the use of pesticides.
