You’re scanning the shelves for your weekly groceries. Often, you’ll see two products that look exactly the same: the ‘standard’ version and the organic one. At first glance, you don't see a difference, so you instinctively reach for the ‘standard’ option.

But that difference is real.

Many of those ‘standard’ products contain a cocktail of chemical pesticides. How ‘normal’ is that, really? While you think you’re eating healthily, you are unknowingly consuming substances linked to risks for both your health and our environment.

Fortunately, there is good news! There is a guarantee label where the use of chemical pesticides is strictly prohibited by law. Choosing organic is, first and foremost, a conscious precaution for your own health.

But the impact of your choice doesn't stop at the edge of your plate. Behind that small green leaf on the packaging lies a world of benefits. Healthy food on your plate starts with healthy soil!

It begins beneath your feet.
Beneath your feet lies a world larger than you can imagine. A single handful of healthy soil contains more microorganisms than there are people on Earth. Organic farming nourishes this soil life through compost, green manure, and crop rotation. Without synthetic fertilizers or chemical pesticides, the soil remains airy, fertile, and rich in organic matter. This allows it to retain water, store carbon, and nourish plants in a natural way.
And then, the landscape comes to life.
A healthy soil forms the foundation for a landscape rich in species. Organic farmers strengthen this diversity with flower strips, hedgerows, and varied crop rotations. Because no synthetic pesticides are used, insects, birds, and natural predators are preserved. This leads to better pollination, reduced pest pressure, and an ecosystem that keeps itself in balance.
Where water can flow clean once again
A soil rich in organic matter acts as a sponge: it captures rain and releases it gradually. Because organic farming uses no chemical substances or synthetic fertilizers, fewer harmful substances leach into ditches and groundwater. The result is cleaner water and a landscape that is more resilient to both droughts and heavy rainfall.
The soil that works for the climate
Healthy soils store carbon, thereby reducing $CO_2$ in the air. Organic farming stimulates this by minimizing soil disturbance, increasing organic matter, and avoiding synthetic fertilizers, the production of which requires significant energy. Landscape features such as trees and herb-rich grasslands also contribute to a climate-resilient agricultural system.
Where animals are allowed to be animals again
In organic livestock farming, animals are given more space, access to the outdoors, and organic feed. They can graze, root, or forage as they naturally do. Preventative antibiotics are prohibited; health is derived from good nutrition, fresh air, and lower stocking densities. This leads to less stress, healthier animals, and a respectful way of treating life.
And ultimately, it ends up on your table
What began in a living soil, ends in your kitchen. Food that stems from a system that strengthens soil, water, air, biodiversity, and animal welfare. Organic products contain fewer pesticide residues and are richer in essential nutrients. By choosing organic, you support food that has been produced with care for people, animals, and nature.

Mapping the Invisible: Geraldine’s Urine Test

Knowing exactly what enters your body is the ultimate form of taking control. To expose the hidden reality of our food system, Geraldine Kemper had her urine tested for glyphosate. Her experience demonstrates why choosing organic is a necessary act of self-protection.

Why specifically glyphosate?

Glyphosate is the most widely used weedkiller in the world. While hundreds of different types of agricultural poisons exist, conducting a broad screening for every single substance is technically extremely complex and expensive. By focusing on glyphosate, we keep the test accessible and affordable for everyone who wants to gain personal insight into their own exposure.
